April Sessa ("Loving Life")

For some time now I've wanted to create a photographic product for women in their 40's and up. To me this is the beginning of one of the most significant time periods in a woman's life. Many have been married for decades, have grown or teenage children, and have careers in or out of the home that has consumed most of their personal time.

Not to be taken for granted, it's at this age when a woman needs to give a little attention to herself. Through unique and fun images of her, created outside of her normal persona, I wanted to remind women of this age how beautiful and elegant they are both inside and outside. I call this type session "Loving Life".

Meet April Sessa, wife of Dan Sessa, and mother of one of my recent wedding grooms (see my blog titled "Deja's and Jordan's Wedding").
I could speak volumes about the wonderful time April experienced, but see for yourself what developed from her "Loving Life" session. I'm certain April would encourage any woman to treat herself to this type photographic session if nothing more than just to have some fun.

"Loving Life" is as easy as
walking
in a field of tall grass.
A nice flowing dress makes a
great outfit for this type session.
Who says you can't look fit
and beautiful all in one body?

I love this soft, delicate portrait
study of April...bare feet and all.

It was a pleasure showing off April's elegant side.
A woman's gotta kick up her heels every now and then.
April is from Texas and has the
convincing looks to prove it.
April is so full of life she NEVER stops smiling!

Pastor Corey & Selena

As a Christian photographer I enjoy the opportunity to create portraits for local clergymen. These men and their families are icons of our society that I hold up in dear respect because of their commitment and choice of avocation. It's a tremendous obligation that few are called to accept.

Even before Pastor Corey Williams came to the studio with his wife Selena I knew it was going to be a great relationship between the two of us. I just sensed that he had the kind of personality that draws you into wanting to be within his circle of influence. Then when he and Selana came in for their sitting, the entire session turned into a "fun-fest" of laughter and a great time together. Both are so compatible for each other, down to earth, and an encouragement. It was one of the easiest portrait sessions I've had to date.

Kalyn Scialabba on a rainy day!

Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
Willie and Kalyn wants to play;
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again!

Well, it didn't go away the day Kalyn and I scheduled her second session, so we made the best of the situation anyway. Initially, we were going to photograph in a field and along some railroad tracks, but it has been raining ALL week.

So, I decided on a location downtown Fort Lauderdale and we just shot everything under overhangs. A few sprinkles never hurt anything...especially when you're having fun. Once again the Kalyn/Willie combination produced some awesome shots. Check 'em out. Once again Kalyn is superb in front of the camera!!

This is one of my favorite renditions
of Kalyn's images that I created
seconds after we started shooting.
No one has eyes like Kalyn.
No one!
Loving faces the way that I do,
I can't resist Kalyn's.
A little art deco downtown Fort Lauderdale.
