Photographer VS Photographer

At the October Perfect Wedding Guide bridal show, I met Terry Sunday as she photographed the setup of the booth next to my display. We struck up a conversation, as photographers will do, and she let me show her a couple of new techniques with her camera. As I spoke with Terry I sensed our personalities were a perfect blend of trust and friendship. So, I offer her a portrait session with the promise of teaching her more about photography. I was genuinely intrigued by her pleasing inner spirit and openness to a stranger. I felt that I could create some unique images of her that would present her as a photographer and a beautiful woman.

Terry came to the studio this Saturday and we pampered her with TLC. First, Krystal Cordo (make-up artist) prepared her face for the session while Dana and I created some simple background sets to photograph her against. From the very first image I took of Terry I was impressed with her uninhibited, funny & giddy spirit that lasted the entire session. I know how difficult it is to trade places in front of the camera as opposed to being behind it. Terry, my hat goes off to you. You were a marvelous subject and every bit of the perfect model I knew you could be. Now you can admit that you are a pro on both sides of the camera.

Enjoy!

Cynthia & Carl's Wedding

She's petite and cute...he's muscular and handsome. These are adjectives that clearly describe Cynthia and Carl. I didn't get the chance to post images from their "Love Story" session, so I'm going to do something I haven't done in past blogs. I'm including both their engagement session and images from their wedding to give you a glimpse of their personalities.

Because Cynthia and Carl are such a handsome couple, I've asked them to work on a couple of other projects with me. I believe my clients really enjoy the fact that I don't consider them as customers, but more as models. I have always felt that way and it gives me a different perspective as a photographer and business owner. It's based on an awesome friendship that's sprinkled with lost of fun.

Oh, What A Week!

Congratulations goes out to my 17-year old grandson, Benjamin Dinkins, who had the most awesome week of his life. Ben attends Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale and plays varsity football for the Panthers. After nine season games in which he received very few passes thrown to him as one of their wide receivers, he scored his first touchdown against Coral Gables High. To add the frosting on his cake for the week, the Coral Gables High game was also their homecoming game, and just two weeks ago his fellow students voted him as "Mr. Dillard". So, he got the honor of escorting the homecoming queen during half-time festivities and to be crowned as the homecoming king. Oh, what a week for Mr. Dinkins.

Congratulations, Grandson! Go, "Ben-Ben"!!!!!!!! (a.k.a. Man Cub)

Homecoming week started off with the
football players substituting as cheerleaders.
It was a long time coming, but here's the scoring catch.Oh, happy day!

Tara & Robert's Wedding

I love bragging on my clients because so often they brag about me. So, let me brag about the new Mr. & Mrs. Tara & Robert Molynuex. Simply stated..."Awesome Wedding". From the moment I walked into the room where the girls were gathered to the final images I took of Robert and Tara at the Historic old Davie School in Davie, they were the "perfect bride and groom". The word "polite" comes to mind too, but they are made out of the rare kind of stuff we call dreams. i see them as more than a young couple who decided to get married and spend the rest of their lives together. Tara and Robert are the exact example of the definition "soulmates".

Although Robert has packed up his pretty wife and moved to Texas (check out Tara's boot shot), there will always be a special place in my heart for them because I've know Robert since he was a kid. I see nothing but good things happening in their lives because of how down to earth they are, and I'm glad they chose me to be a part of their lives. I believed my images of their wedding day gives credence to what I've said. Congratulations, Tara and Robert. Your wedding day was the BEST!!
