"U-Kids" (Fine Art Children Photography)

Portrait Corner Studio, LLC. is currently introducing our newest children photography product: "U-kids". "U-Kids" stands for "Urban Kids" and is intended for moms who have discriminating taste and want "fine art" portraits of their child. Unlike traditional studio photography and run of the mill chain store photography, "U-Kids" sessions are conducted outdoors, involves numerous locations, exciting backgrounds, bright colors, and cool clothing outfits.

"U-Kids" portraits are intended for display as large wall portraits or presented in a "fine art" album. To introduce our clients to this exciting product I've posted the following portraits from Na'ryah Damas' session. Na'ryah is 3 years old and is the daughter of Natalie Martinez. Na'ryah and Natalie had a blast during this session and I've never laughed so much during a child's portrait session. Na'ryah's antics were priceless.

As a special introduction to "U-Kids" photography, we are offering to the first ten mothers who book a session in the month of April a $25 dollar gift certificate towards the session fee. Take a look at the portraits accompanying this blog and give your child the experience of having this exciting and beautiful child photography. Session times are limited so call the studio today at: (954)921-7959 and make your session reservation.

Enjoy!
Willie

It's all about the shoes.

You can just visualize Na'ryah
as a young lady someday.

This is what you get when you ask a
3 year old if she has a a belly button.

No she's not a pretzel, but this is her
attempt at "crossing her legs" like an adult.

I love this pensive shot of Na'ryah.

By the end of the session
Na'ryah was flying high.

Andrew's 1st Communion

The following 1st Communion session of Andrew was a delightful change from the traditional portrait session that we capture in the studio.  It was the idea of Andrew's mom, Vicki, and I'm really pleased with the casual, subtle treatment of this theme.  Although I captured many of the traditional poses associated with a 1st Communion, I truly wanted to enhance the personality of Andrew in a very striking way.  I wanted viewers of these images to be drawn into this young man's youth by using unique camera angles and body language.  I wanted each images to be a "slice of art".

I'm looking forward to creating more 1st Communion session in this manner.  It was fun and Andrew (and his brother) had a blast.

Enjoy!

Tina's Makeup Session

Lately I've been teaming up with Divine Eyez makeup artist NaTasha Barr who has been using us to create images for her portfolio and for advertisement. Tina Turner was the model on this shoot and she was perfect from head to toe. I can honestly say that she had very few blemishes that needed retouching and her skin is impeccable.

I didn't get to create a lot of images because I was in between helping a client place an order and shooting the session, but I've posted a few shot that I like a lot.

Enjoy!

How To Stop Telemarkers Calls

Are You Getting Telemarketing Calls You Don’t Want?
Here’s How to Stop Them.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) launched the National Do Not Call Registry to give Americans a choice about getting telemarketing calls at home. According to a recent Harris Interactive poll, 92 percent of people who reported placing a number on the registry said they are receiving fewer calls; a total of 78 percent said they’re getting “far fewer calls” or none at all.

If you think you put your number on the National Do Not Call Registry, and you’re still getting telemarketing sales calls, the Federal Trade Commission recommends that you: Check to see that your number is on the registry. You can verify that your number is on the registry two ways: online at DONOTCALL.GOV (click on “Verify A Registration”), or by calling 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236) from the phone number you wish to verify. Follow the prompts.

You also can add your number to the registry using the same Web site or phone number (call from the number you want to register). If you register online, you will receive an email from donotcall.gov as part of the confirmation process. You will need to click on the link in this email within 72 hours after you receive it. If you don’t click on the link in the email, the number you tried to register will not be added to the registry, and telemarketers may continue to call. Understand that some calls are not covered.

Once your number has been on the registry for three months, most telemarketing calls will stop. However, you still may get: calls from — or on behalf of — political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors; calls from companies with whom you have an existing business relationship. A company may call you for 18 months after you make a purchase or three months after you submit an inquiry or application; calls from companies you’ve given permission to call.

File a complaint. If your number has been on the registry for at least three months, and a telemarketer calls, complain to the FTC. Visit DONOTCALL.GOV or call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236). You’ll need to provide the date of the call and the phone number or name of the company that called you.

The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit www.ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.
