The Dress

After years and years of suggesting and begging I finally got one of my dream sessions with a bride…the chance to photograph her during one of her fittings. Along comes Michelle Durand. Michelle, her mom and I hit it off immediately from the first time we met at a bridal show. After contracting us to be her wedding photographer she initially asked me would I be interested in photographing her dress at a friend’s home. We completed that session several months and I fell in love with both Michelle and her dress. That session convinced me of one thing. The day of her wedding she’s gonna be stunning!

So, I asked Michelle if she would be willing to let me photograph her and the dress during one of her fittings. She agreed right away and just this week we met at David’s Bridal in Sunrise to do one of my “dream shoots”. I have to admit a lot of girls trying on their dresses got a little nervous (and curious) when they saw me brandishing cameras around my neck. When it was all said and done though, Michelle was the star that night in the store and I had a blast of a time. There are too many sensational images to view that would not fit in this blog, so go to this link: web link, Select View Events, and enter Dress as the Session ID. I’m hoping this session will be something all of my brides will want in the future. Thanks, Michelle, for making one of my dream sessions come true. You and the dress are one...beautiful!

The Perfect Belly

Cliann Smith not only has the “perfect belly”, she is the perfect pregnancy client (model). A previous bride and client of mine, Janina Alamo, introduced Cliann to my “Bellies & Babies” photography and it was a perfect match for both of us. During Cliann’s planning session I knew she was going to bring a lot of personality to her session. Boy, I wasn’t wrong about that! She was so natural in front of the camera. Taking posing directions was a breeze for her and her bubbly personality is highly contagious. You can just feel the excitement in her person and it clearly shows in her images.

But, I really have to give her an award for braving the chilly 45 degree weather for her beach shots. Baby, it was cold, but she stuck it out and preformed like a “super model”. If Cliann’s baby is anything like her, I can’t wait until her precious baby is born. It's going to be a wonderful moment to see what I'm sure will be the “perfect baby”.

It may not look cold, but it was freezy, huh, Cliann? Great job!

A Gentleman and A Lady

I could write volumes about the "classy" and "elegant" couple of Beverly and Byron. Their wedding reflected all they are as individuals as well as husband and wife. To me their affection and respect for each other is what constitute the foundation of a relationship that will last forever. It was such a pleasure to be a part of their day that included a broken zipper on a bridesmaid’s dress that we spent half an hour trying to repair. Then there was a fusion of beautiful colors, harmony of venue, and friendships that enhanced the evening. Beverly and Byron you are the perfect couple… “A Gentleman and A Lady”.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony.

Beverly was more than eager to walk down the aisle.

The "fish-eye" lens gives a wonderful view
you don't see often in photographs.

As a photographer you have to be ready for moments
like this; it can happen in a second.

Hillcrest Country Club was a perfect venue.

Photographing the cake from the top
is one of my novelty shots I like to create.

Danielle Knox Up Close

You’ve seen her on TV doing her thing as a newscaster for CBS4 News, but like most individuals who spend lots of time in the public limelight there is also a personal side to her lifestyle. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of photographing numerous celebrities and people of notoriety. It’s during a one-on-one session like the one I recently had with Danielle that makes you appreciate people for who they truly are, and you gain a greater sense of the complexity of what they do professionally.

Danielle shared her home with me, 15 minutes of her time in front of the camera, and some of her personalized beauty products. It was a treat. After checking out these cool shots of her just being herself, go online and check out her beauty products at: www.playprettybeauty.com.

Danielle, you are beautiful, Lady!
