April Wallace - First Photo Session

The following "behind-the-scenes" images were created during my first portrait session with April Wallace and where taken at the Enterprise Mill in downtown Augusta.  I met April at a local restaurant and quickly recognized that she would be an excellent subject to photograph and I encouraged her to give me a call if she was interested.  During that encounter April informed me that over time several people had mentioned that she should consider modeling, and so she promptly advised me that she was interested.

Although it was a trifle wet and chilly on the day of the session April did a fantastic job despite the cold weather, and overall I was pleased with the images we were able to create on this overcast day.  The session involved using off-camera flash as well as available light techniques to light the subject.

I'm looking forward to having more sessions with April in the future and believe she will look more stunning in front of the camera as she become better at posing.   Thanks for a great first time session, April.

Enjoy!

EDL - "Short & Sweet"

These images are from a brief EDL (Every Day Life) trip that I made not to far from home.  I also revisited one old photographic stumping grounds to see if there were any undiscovered subjects to photograph that perhaps I'd missed during my first visit.  This session also gave me the opportunity to test out my new Canon 1200D camera in an effort to get used to its different functions.

Panoramas are a "must" whenever I go out on a session.

Appling, GA

"Appling, GA" is actually a brief EDL (every day life) session that I spent photographing local scenery with my friend Roy and his wife Jeannine.  Several weeks ago Jeannine requested that I give her some photography lessons, so while they were house sitting for their daughter I drove up to meet them and after a brief teaching session we took our cameras out for a spin.

Because I was doing more instructing and less shooting I was only able to come away with a few images especially when Jeannine's camera gobbled up her two batteries faster than expected and I had to give her mine camera to use.  However, like the true portrait photographer that I am, I couldn't resist putting them together for an impromptu photo session.  The one below is my favorite out of four quick images I created.

Our session started at her daughter's house and ended up at a rundown building.  Jeannine loves old barns and ruins.  It was a great time, Roy and Jeannine, and I look forward to photography lesson number two.
