Benita & Wilfred
What a pleasure it was to work with this couple during our first round of picture taking. I guess if I had to give a one-word statement about Benita and Wilfred it would be "smooth". There is an obvious gentleness about the way they respond to each other in nearly every posing situation I placed them. I don't know if it was the chilly temperature of the day that kept Benita so cool, but it didn't stop Wilfred from showering her with hot romance and a fun spirit.
With their wedding date right around the corner, I'm looking forward to creating some personal images that will add to their continuing story of "true love". In the meantime, enjoy the following images of their engagement session.
Enjoy!

Deja & Jordan
I guess if you live long enough you get to experience some neat "life stories". I am so proud to write this blog on Deja Carbee and Jordan Sessa, mostly because I've known Deja ever since she was 4 years old. Amazingly, I taught her in the Preschool Sunday School Department at Sheridan Hills Baptist Church. (Wow, Deja, you're getting old!) This is such a treat for me to not only watch her grow up, but now to see her as a young woman who is getting ready to marry a really awesome man in the name of Jordan.
If I tell you that the three of us had a great time creating their Love Story images that would be an understatement. We had a blast. I must confess that Jordan threw me a curve. You see I'm 6'5" in height and I believe Jordan is a little taller than I am and another 2' shorter than Deja. So, I was kinda stuck in the middle while photographing the two of them which provided some tough and interesting compositional challenges. However, Deja and Jordan are two beautiful young people that can't look bad in pictures no matter what they do.
For me this session reminded me of the phrase "circle of life". I suspect that one day I may have the opportunity of photographing Deja and Jordan's first child. What a treat that would be for me as a friend of the family and a professional photographer. It doesn't get any better than that.
Deja and Jordan, I'm looking forward to your upcoming wedding. I know it's going to be a great day for you, but it's going to be a very special day for me too. I wish you and Jordan many years of happiness.
Enjoy!

Tabitha Bean
The images below are of a special friend. Tabitha Bean. As one of Signature Grand's Recommended Vendors I get to see her on a regular basis because of the wedding and special events that we photograph at this venue. Tabitha is one of the ladies that works the front desk at Signature Grand and more likely is one of the first persons you'll meet when entering the building. Because she gets to know all of the photography vendors on the list, I'm certain she personally knows their reputation and quality of work.
That's why when she asked me about my portrait services and told me she needed portraits created of herself, I was honored and excited about the fact that she chose my studio to do the work. The neat thing about creating these images for Tabitha is that I got to see another side of her that is not so accessible because of the professional nature of her job at Signature Grand.
As I discussed my shooting plans with Tabitha and we set aside her wardrobe for each change, I quickly learned that she was sort of a fashion guru with a flair for color. I think her contribution to the session of what looks good on her is what makes her images a great collaboration between photographer and subject. Personally, I was immensely captivated by her perfect skin, excellent facial features, and willingness to be vulnerable in front of the camera.
