1st Place Wedding Album

You’ve seen images of Kerry-Ann’s wedding on a previous blog dated February 8, 2008. Well, there’s another story behind her photographs. As a member of the Professional Photographers Guild of Florida (ppgf.com), three times a year I compete against other professional photographers in South Florida. We are allowed four entries in various categories with the hopes of scoring a minimum of 80 points, which gives the entrant a Merit Award. At the end of the year these merits count towards the “Top Ten Photographers” awards.

I’m proud to say that two out of four of my entries merited and Kerry-Ann’s wedding album scored “First Place” in the Storybook category. Congratulations Kerry-Ann & Felton for allowing me to create your wedding images and for the recognition that the professional photography industry has bestowed upon the quality of your wedding portraits. Your images are some of my most impressive. Enjoy your album and the First Place ribbon that I’m giving to you as a keepsake.

Hopefully in August during State Competition Kerry-Ann's album will garnish another merit.

Kerry-Ann and Felton

I don’t think most brides realize how much of an effect they can have on their wedding photographer. So, as I share Kerry-Ann and Felton’s wedding pictures I want her to know that I had a wonderful time documenting your special day. I appreciate you giving me your best. From the moment I started capturing portraits of her at the hotel, she was stunning in her dress and freely participated in my antics throughout the day. My hat is off to Felton, too. He let me capture a side of his personality that I don’t think most people get to see. Congratulations! You’re the best.

The Dress

After years and years of suggesting and begging I finally got one of my dream sessions with a bride…the chance to photograph her during one of her fittings. Along comes Michelle Durand. Michelle, her mom and I hit it off immediately from the first time we met at a bridal show. After contracting us to be her wedding photographer she initially asked me would I be interested in photographing her dress at a friend’s home. We completed that session several months and I fell in love with both Michelle and her dress. That session convinced me of one thing. The day of her wedding she’s gonna be stunning!

So, I asked Michelle if she would be willing to let me photograph her and the dress during one of her fittings. She agreed right away and just this week we met at David’s Bridal in Sunrise to do one of my “dream shoots”. I have to admit a lot of girls trying on their dresses got a little nervous (and curious) when they saw me brandishing cameras around my neck. When it was all said and done though, Michelle was the star that night in the store and I had a blast of a time. There are too many sensational images to view that would not fit in this blog, so go to this link: web link, Select View Events, and enter Dress as the Session ID. I’m hoping this session will be something all of my brides will want in the future. Thanks, Michelle, for making one of my dream sessions come true. You and the dress are one...beautiful!
